A retired senior tax partner at Deloitte, Don was born in and raised in Toronto. After graduating from the University of Toronto, Don obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1968, winning the Ontario prize in accounting and placing in Canada’s top ten CA graduates.
Adhering to a life tenet “The value of information lies in its possession; the value of knowledge lies in its sharing.” and dedicated to sharing his knowledge, over his professional career, Don has taught the accounting course at York University and the Income Tax course at the Saint John Campus of the University of New Brunswick. In addition to many presentations on taxation for the Ontario and Canadian Institutes of Chartered Accountants (CICA), Don was a founding member and a recurring presenter at the CICA’s Commodity Tax Symposium and the editor of Deloitte’s publication “GST Impact - The Final Countdown”. His receipt of the CICA’s award of Excellence in Tax Practice and Education and his CA Fellowship Award are testimonials to his professional accomplishments.
Don moved to New Brunswick in 1998 and has been extensively involved in many community organizations and charities, giving freely of his time, skills and knowledge, although, despite being a member of St. Mary’s Band, he regrettably confesses to limited musical skills.
Another life tenet: “Give freely, willingly and unselfishly. That pre-empts any obligation or need to “give back”. personifies his commitment to our project as does the fact that he has personally experienced elements of that which we are dedicated to alleviating.

Kim began her nursing career in 1985 after graduating from the Saint John School of Nursing. During that time, she has worked across the spectrum of care from neonatal to senior services, with a strong focus on pediatrics. Over 39 years, Kim has had the privilege of serving in diverse roles, including staff nurse, intensive care nurse, clinical educator, and manager. Her career has been driven by a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and improving health outcomes.
In 2011, while balancing work, family, and caregiving for aging parents, Kim earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. This accomplishment opened doors to leadership roles where she could further influence care delivery and support for both staff and clients.
Kim’s journey with Centre for Youth Care began in 2018 when she recognized a critical gap between healthcare and community engagement for youth. Joining the CYC board allowed Kim to contribute to bridging this gap, and she has since been deeply committed to advancing our mission of empowering young people.
Outside of her professional life, Kim enjoys photography, hiking, kayaking, sewing, and spending quality time with family, friends, and pets.
Kim is excited to contribute to the upcoming capital campaign, which is a testament to Centre for Youth Care's dedication to creating a brighter future for our youth. She looks forward to working with community stakeholders and seeing the profound impact this initiative will have on the lives of the next generation.
